I really like the look of #1. Very intense overall look. Did you shoot it in B&W or convert it. I like it a lot!! While I'm a real fan of PPing -- I do digital paintings from photos -- #2 is just too soft for my tastes, but I do like the sepia/duo tone technique. Did you mask out the dog and apply speia to everything else, or do something else I can't put my finger on? Very good job.

thanks guys. they were both shot in colour. the second shot was a midnight sepia action then just tinkered with it to get the desired results. the background isnt real though. this was photoshopped in as i dont have a background yet. glad you liked them. i myself was quite impressed with how they came out too :D

Thanks, jjmucker -- I'll have to try that midnight sepia. The fact that you photoshopped the background in doesn't bother me at all. I do a lot of dog portraits taken outside in natural light where the dog is comfortable -- dog park, backyard, etc. -- and photoshop portrait backgrounds in. The dogs are happy, the owners are ecstatic with the portraits and I'm happy that they are happy.

The expression in that second shot is just priceless. What could that little dog be thinking about? GETTING INTO TROUBLE, I'm guessing, haha!

probably thinking, "damn, how many shots are you taking of me, can you hurry up already"

as that was quite a few shots in. gave her a wee treat after it though because she did good sitting there that long lol
