My monitor is on it's way out so I'm in the market for a new one. I'd like to hear some recommendations on what I should be looking for in a monitor for processing photos.

I thought that LCD was an obvious choice, but I read somewhere lately that CRT's can be better for photo editing. Would love some help.

Thanks!

Thanks for the input. Anyone else have any brands/types to suggest I look at?

Then do you do a search on this forum, there are too much to be list here.
Pay attention to the technology. I'm in the market for monitor too. There are so many things to read.

Also, list your budget may help too.

whats your budget?

one normal monitor, one large weidescreen, dual monitors?
The Apple cinema and Dell Ultrasharp are very popular ones. I have the 24" Dell and am very happy with it.

A good Sony aperture grill CRT in the 21" range can't be beat for the purpose at hand.
To get similar results in an LCD one would need to spend a lot more $ like 5-10X more
