Confused about sensor/pixel size?

Doesn't surprise me but I've seen a lot of discussion here lately on this subject so I thought this might help some of the people who have had questions recently.

also, if anyone is interested... there is a somewhat interesting article in the recent issue of Digital PhotoPro magazine that explains the differences between CCD and CMOS sensors and the benefits of each vs. the other.
