Three Letter Acronyms :D

I've seen questions posted asking what certain acronyms mean and I'm not aware of a good answer on this forum...

CdS
Cadmium Sulfide, a reference to the first battery-powered photosensor which could read lower light levels than were possible with Selenium cell meters....

I recommend an alternate meaning:

CdS

Cyberdyne Systems, fictional robotics manufacturer and, alternately, a moderator and occasional poster to POTN.

I note you didn't complain about FUBAR being non-photographic. Does that say something about your photography skills? ;)

I remember a few years back, I was on night shift and not a lot was happening so we started reading through some of the manuals that IBM used to send out with mainframes, ok it was more than a few years back. Anyway we came across this TLA, it was AMD so we checked the glossary and it read

AMD - Air Movement Device, see FAN

so there you have it, a TLA for a three letter word!

Canon EOS400D
Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6
Sigma EF-500 DG Super flash

No matter where you go, there you are.

That's hilarious! I'm just surprised it wasn't a government manual that did that. Wait, then it might have been, EMRGPT - Electro Mechanical Rotating Gaseous Pressure Transducing Device.
