Hi everyone!

New to this forum and would like to ask a question regarding a ND 4.0 filter. Does anyone have any experiences with this type of filter? Information that was given to me when I received it was that is is equivlent to 13 f/stops....Is this correct? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

If using the B+W method it would be about that. ND filters seem to have a few naming strategies. A Cokin ND4 would be 2 stops. Is the filters really dark? The meter in your camera will compensate for the reduced light as well.

You could meter wall for instance with the filter on and without. Then count the stop difference. That would answer your question.
