(photo taken with my XT)

and of course i have been playing with it most of yesterday and most of today
this is one of the best (so far)

IMAGE NOT FOUND
HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'image/gif' | Byte size: ZERO | PHOTOBUCKET ERROR IMAGE

shot with 0mm f1.8 @ f1.8 (INVALID EMAIL), 1/100th sec ISO 3200
converted to black and white due to horrible noise in the colour version, i am still playing, learning and will learn to expose properly to avoid noise

thank you to this forum for the advice, you have been a great help

i know, i havent got a duck yet, i will get one later.

I want one but can't bring myself to buy while there is a good chance of a new model in the spring - such a big investment (£1800 best i've seen) and no need to hurry. Seen some superb shots with that camera, you will have a great time breaking it in.

Congrats. I've had mine a year now and it sure was nice to get back to something that felt like my film cameras.

$5300 australian plus i get $750 cashback (which is going on a spare battery, birthday present for my wonderful fiancee and as much memory as i can afford)

this is how cameras are supposed to feel, its big, heavy, fits my hands like a glove, and i havent tired of hearing 8fps bursts yet.
the menu system takes a little getting used to, the pressing 2 buttons at a time is actually a good idea
i cant remember how many times i had a brilliant shot lined up with my 350d, pressed the shutter and heard the beep beep beep of the self timer

yep, i have started shooting motorsport and i have never really liked the grip on the XT, it feels tiny in my hands. i was going to get a 30d, then i realised i would still want the 1d and would eventually get one, so i got it now.

ijohnson - try searching google for mk2n mp3 - there is a few of them although it sounds a little better when your holding it

and i wont forget the duck, i just need to find one

OOOOOOOOOH you lucky sunuvuh...I want one of these so bad I can taste it.
mmmmmmmm taste like the plastic it was wrapped in,with a hint of cardboard, but I digress.I hear its one beast of a camera, how awkward is it getting used to 45 pof?I currently have the XT and am going to upgrade to this one day, unless of course the newer model is a vast improvement on this one.

And to ijohnson scroll down a bit on the link here and you will know what this thing sounds like in burst mode.Gatling.

yep its a beast, the 45 af points are all clustered in an ellipse through the centre of the viewfinder, its actually really good, not hard to get used to at all
seriously, the XT feels like a toy in comparison, even the XT buttons feel toylike
and that mirror noise, it really does sound like a machine gun

Well done Echo... Looks like youre going to be a very happy camper for the next few months shooting everything that moves... or doesnt! Sounds to me like you got a great price too... considering i just got 5d for around the 4000 mark... plus have bought the batt grip too which puts it close to your price after rebates...!! Where did u get it may i ask?!?! and where do you think the best place in Perth is for Cam gear?! or is it all online via eastern states sellers? would be good to know.. Look forward to your Duck photo... i found some in Kings park along with 1000 other wicked things to shoot! Keep up the posts..

Regards, Nick.
