Many people are anticipating the new line of tripods from Gitzo, myself included. I'm just curious how many of you POTN'ers have or will be making the decision to go with one of these new ones. Has anyone ever seen/used the new G-Locks or anti-rotation legs? If so, what do you think? I'm a fan of the 1325 but I'm hesitant to invest in one simply because it's discontinued. I'd prefer that replacement parts are readily available. No, I don't plan on drop-kicking the 'pod every chance I get but I bet something on it will break or wear out eventually.:)

I have a Gitzo G-1157 on the way in to my home in the mail now. Is this one of the new lines your talking about? I'm still 12 days from arriving back in the CONUS, however I'll try to give you a quick review if by chance you haven't heard from the other members.

Yes, I believe that one features both the 6x carbon and Anti-Leg Rotation (not sure if it has g-locks though). Let me know what you think when you get a chance to put it through it's paces. Thanks.

Sounds good. A few days after I return home, i'll be flying out to Belize for 14 days, Should be able to give it a good test run.

Yes I will definitely be getting one of them. I originally had my eye on the 1325 but the new replacements (GT3530S and GT3530LSV) look like huge improvements on what was already the number one choice for supporting a super-telephoto. The new ones will support a massive 39lb and only weigh in at 4lb. They're expensive but you get what you pay for.

I could not wait for the others to get in stock. I called B&H to order a 1327 and the guy sold it to me for $549. I think the price was worth not waiting around a few weeks for the new ones come in stock.... Especially since the weight it supports really will support anything I will be using anytime soon...

When is B&H supposed to have the 3530LSV in stock?

They told me 3-4 weeks....

But I do see Adorama has them in stock. I am sure Iw ill be happy witht he 1325/1327. I can always RMA it or sell it and buy the new one or just buy it as a second set of legs....

You're right, Adorama does have them in stock. I think they're one of the few places that do. I called B&H and, according to their Gitzo buyer, they no longer have an ETA on the legs. I wouldn't hold your breath.

Well, my 1327's came today and i have to say they are AWESOME. What little bit i got to play with them today made me understand the difference. i am keeping these and wil be happy, I am sure they will be fine for years and be all i will ever need for years. They are a true work of art and go nicely with the RRS 55 ball head i got to go with them.

I'm sure you'll be happy for a long time. After spending some time with a set of 1325s, I was sold. Congrats on the new gear.:)
