I've decided to buy the a710. Any recs on where to buy it?

Amazon has a partner selling it for $282 w/free ship. That's pretty good. But since I will be needing a 1 GB Mem Card and a charger, I thought a package deal might be a good way to go.

DigitaFoto http://www.digitalfotoclub.com …features.asp?id=964672203 (external link)
has a nice package including a 1 GB card, a small 2-battery charger, a case, lens cleaning kit and a mini tripod for only $60 over the $280 camera cost and free ship.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks!

Be careful with those package deals. The memory card offered in the deal you mentioned is an off-brand (they've edited a pic of a SanDisk to remove the logo in the ad), they don't mention the brand of the batteries, and that charger is really cheap.

The price mentioned for newegg is for an open-box product. New, in sealed box is more expensive.

Think about getting a high-quality, four battery charger and some good batteries rather than a cheap package since with a two battery camera you're going to want to know you've got some power stored in the cells and you won't have to charge your backup set separately.

Are you talking about the Transcend card? If so there great! I misred the price on the used one. Price is still good and shipping is reasonable.

Are you talking about the Transcend card? ....

The add only says "Top Brand" card. The picture shows a SanDisk card with the brand logo blanked out, and a site search for Transcend shows nothing. I'm guessing it's whatever cheap generic card they happen to have available at the time of order.
