well the Focus on imaging trade show is back at the NEC February the 25th to the 28th
Its apparently the biggest photography and imaging show in europe, and guess what! 'Cannon' dont seem to be showing again, you'd think canon would be there when nikon are showing .do canon think they can rest on there laurels? well ill be popping down for a day, but im dissapointed with cannon.
anyone else going???

Nope - but would be good if you'd report back!

The only time I venture north of London (does anything North of London even EXIST?) for a trade show, is for MOTORCYCLES!

Just curious to know about peoples thoughts about this show. I've not been to a photography show before and was wondering what to expect on the day. I've been to the website and seen they've got some talks about various aspects of photography. Other than this.. what else goes on?

Are there any bargains to be had? and if so.. whats worth looking out for in a place like this.

My Canon can.. I just need to find out how

I've been along for a couple of years. It was was first intented for PRO Photographers and you do get alot of people complaining that its gone downhill in recent years.
Complainers aside I find it a good day out and with plenty to look at and buy.
Yes some bargains are to be had, although the last day seems the best day for prices.

well i went to last yrs show it was my first time and thouroughly enjoyed myself even though canon wasnt there, theres hundreds of stalls and loads to see and watch ,as for bargains there are some items for 'show price' prices but i have to admit if you dont eally need it ,its not really a bargain as such ,i went down there looking to get a colouromiter so yeah i got it cheaper but not that much. still it was a good day out and if ive nothing planned and not workin ,when its on ill be there.but i wouldnt be to upset if i didnt make it this yr.btw the bars not bad.lol although if you want to compare a few models in 1 area together i.tripods/heads etc it good for that as most manufacturers have then set out side by side where you can play with em and sigma had there lenses there to try out.
edit...
as for taking camera down..not really worthit..there were a cpl of models but that was about it.lol

Could take your camera if you wanted, there are some models on hand to shoot in studio setups. I personally wouldnt, but thats me. I would rather walk round the NEC hassle free, without photo hunting.

Exhibitors get thinner on the ground every year - I wonder if this'll be the last one?
Canon haven't returned, and a quick look at the list shows at least two of my favourite regulars have pulled out this time round: Mr Cad and SRB

... I'll still be there on Sunday, though :)
