Perhaps a tad more contrast and saturation and #2 would be awesome.

Lake District? As in Chile?

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

There is only one Lake District, Cumbria NW England, soon to be designated a world heritage site, Yes it is that good.
Like the first shot of the Langdale Pikes, but agree the second is lacking contrast and saturation. Where about was this taken? must be Morcambe bay in the background.

Thanks for the comments. The second shot is of Bardsea village, a hamlet just outside of Ulverston, Cumbria. Well spotted it is Morecambe Bay; and Lord Cavendish's land behind. #2 is flat thanks for the tweak.

Wow, those bring back memories. I haven't been back to the Lake District since the early 90's. Great photos, thanks

Nice shots Paul I like both but I think the second one just needs a little more contrast.:D

No, there's one in Chile too.

In the first image the mountains look a bit washed out. Did you apply pp to the whole image?

The second has lots of potential, I would:

1) increase contrast
2) increase saturation (much less than what you did in the second effort)
3) sharpen it

Have you tried the Velvia actions? You can get them from here

I would think stength +2 or +3 should be sufficient to give it a boost.

Yes, and I'm heading down there in March! I'm really pretty excited. I'll have a few days there, then a few days in costal Patagonia. Should be a great trip.

Wow - thanks for showing those pictures. I am told, by my mother, that my forebears on my fathers side came from the Lake District so I was interested to view these. What a pretty area.

When we were kids, we used to get tins of coloured pencils with a picture from the Lakes District on the front. Ack! That is a memory from 40 years ago!

Thanks for the shots - I would like to see more from that area.
