These are all sharp and all, but I don't understand the severity of cropping...

those arent tight crops (maybe) but it looks like he shot really tight the whole match

yeahhh those are much better... tight is great, but only if you can understand what is going on

great shots David, finally someone shooting tennis where i can take a look at some good shots.

were you an accredited photog David? if so how did you go about getting accred, are you going to melbourne for the open?

Yes, the last three photos are much better.

Hi there Michael,

Glad you enjoyed the photos, yes, I was accredited for the event. It has been a 1-2yr battle to start being recognised as a sports photographer, but is starting to pay off. Unfortunately I am not going to Melbourne but is on my list of things to do.
