These were shot for a friend yesterday. I finally got a chance to try out my Nikon strobes on a car and I must say, it was fun. I ofcourse also used my HDR techniques again as well. This was a fun little shoot, and I have many more photos to post but I figured I'd share these first (I can always go back and reply to the thread with more as I process them).

I was too lazy to clone out the power lines in the back, but I actually rather like them there.

I like how the sun reflects off the car in this shot.

This one was taken towards the tail end of the shoot and one of my strobes had died (dead batteries) so I didn't use any lights for this one.

This shot is by far my favorite out of the series, just because it came out so clean and nice. Strobes were used for this one too.

Aack, the one thing I didn't notice until after the shoot was that my sensor is so dusty it's starting to resemble a leopard print cloth. And well, white car + HDR + sensor dust = a whole lot of cloning out to be done, not to mention one VERY stressed photographer!

Infact...hmm..I should run off and clean that filthy filthy sensor now..

Yep, because Canon won't make any strobes with a PC sync port, I bought Nikon SB-series strobes instead (SB-24 and SB-26 to be exact) and use those via PocketWizards for my lighting needs. They are cheaper than Canon strobes too.

I love the Canon system dearly as far as bodies and lenses go, but I hate thier strobes for thier lack of a PC sync port and expensive price tag.

i second that! my buddy shoots with a d200 and sb800 strobes and i just love how their wireless TTL system works and how you can pretty much control everything from the "commander" strobe -- AND ITS SOOOO EASY!!. canon is not quite there yet with their wireless TTL capabilities. i wish they would implement a similar system but i guess thats just wishful thinking!

Well I use my strobes in all manual mode, so I can't really control them from a 'commander' anything except firing them via PocketWizard (my PW triggers the SB-24 and that in turn triggers my optical slave-capable SB-26).

But yeah, Canon's strobe system is nice but lacking. And I didn't want to risk it and get an expensive ST-E2 and a bunch of 550EX's or some such when I could go cheaper and get a PW set (which is from what I have seen/read/heard WAY more reliable than the ST-E2) and a bunch of cheapie Nikon strobes.
