Awesome photos & car!! I really like the angles you used. It really works well with the lines of the car. Im not too fond w/ the HDR post processing though. Any shots w/o the HDR?

ST-E2 fires the 430ex as well. you can use the 550/580 as comanders as well. I used to use a few 430's with my ST-E2 but recently got some proper studio flashes which are portable. makes a huge difference

Well I use my strobes in all manual mode, so I can't really control them from a 'commander' anything except firing them via PocketWizard (my PW triggers the SB-24 and that in turn triggers my optical slave-capable SB-26).

But yeah, Canon's strobe system is nice but lacking. And I didn't want to risk it and get an expensive ST-E2 and a bunch of 550EX's or some such when I could go cheaper and get a PW set (which is from what I have seen/read/heard WAY more reliable than the ST-E2) and a bunch of cheapie Nikon strobes.

Is the graininess/noise added as a post processing effect, or is it part of your HDR process?

Must say that you did fantastic on those shots. I'd leave the power lines. adds a dramatic effect to them.

the HDR is awsome. Love the shots.

When you did the HDR, did you also adjust the output from your strobes +/- a stop or 2???

Or just kept strobe power the same and changed the exposure settings on the camera?
