How do i set the aperature and shutter speed using the CUSTOM here?

the custom settings are user defined, if you want to control aperture and shutter speed, you have to use M (manual) mode

Too dark. Try higher ISO like 800. Use NoiseNinja to clean up the noise.

Welcome to POTN. There is a forum specifically for Canon compact cameras here: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=15

There are also various photo sharing forums on the board. Keep on shooting and posting.
