Odd. When it said you had space for 151, was that for the same size as when you got 151? If so, as you shot, did it keep readjusting the number upwards? Interesting issue, I will follow to see wht the heck happened. Oh, great camera by the way... my envy is showing!

ill talk you threw what i did i put the card in the camera and formatted it it gave 151 as the avalible number of shots. i then pressed the button till it hit zero for alot of the numbers it would take the shot drop a frame from the avalible number of shots and then add it back on again. once it was done I went to the folder menu and it showed 301 images in the folder i then formatted in in camera and it went back to saying there was 151 shots avalible.

thanks i love it, its a big step but its got to be done

I don't see what was accomplished? Didn't reformatting the card erase all the images. Aren't you right back where you started?

If you are shooting in JPG then it will be due to compression.

Shoot a whole clip in raw and see if it's more accurate. Mine is fine (I shoot raw).

No, the size of a JPEG is less predictable than the size of a RAW. JPEG files with very little detail are much more compressible than those with lots of colours/details, since JPEG treats nearby colour values as if they're all the same and instead of saying "here's a bit that's FFAABB; here's an FFAABA; here's an FFABBA; . . ." where the numbers are the RRGGBB values of the colour in hex; a JPEG will say "well here's 3 that are about FFAABB", and you lose all the nuances. The "shots remaining" is based on an average file size; ISO settings also affect the reading you'll get, but it's essentially guaranteed to be a wrong value.

That's not all that far off. I've gotten 700 on a 1 GB that was saying 400 when I started shooting at an air show. Lots of lovely, compressible, blue sky!

I honesty don't know much about 1D bodies and file format but are you just looking at many files are in the card through a computer and could it be that what you seeing is 149 shots (image files) and 149 .thm files and 3 tag files.

You mean there are people who shoot something other than RAW?
