Did that very interesting and creative title leave you wanting more? This is my second visit to this overpass. I think these turned out pretty good. I just got a new tripod but now I'm having trouble coming up with places to shoot! Anyway, comments/criticism appreciated.

1 & 2 are awesome. The last one seems to tilt.

Really nice shots of I-5!

I'm surprised there aren't more cars (lights)! This part of Seattle is usually bumper to bumper when I'm there.

I like b&w photos... but these might look just as nice in color, because of the streaking head and tail lights. Good work!

The exposure times all vary. The 1st one was 30 sec at f22. The second is a couple different exposures mixed together ranging from 15 sec to 75.
I don't really know the correct way to convert to b/w. I desaturated using the channel mixer and then used a selective colors adjustment layer tweaking the black, white and neutral colors. and some bightness/contrast tweaking too.

Anyone know a better way of converting to black and white?
Here's a color version to compare...I think the b/w looks cooler though.

You're right, they look better in B&W. Nice shots, I really like night stuff and you did a good job on these. I think I recognize that bridge and the building at the far end...I actuall like this version better than the last.

I guess I'm the odd one here, because I prefer the color version much more than the B&W version (although they're all great shots) :)

Oh, also... not sure if it's a better way of converting to B&W, but it's one that I've come to use most of the time now.

1) Convert image from RGB to LAB Color (Image/Mode/Lab Color)
2) Select the Lightness Channel in the Channel window/tab
3) Convert to Grayscale and say yes when prompted to discard all other channels (Image/Mode/Grayscale)
4) Convert back to RGB (Image/Mode/RGB)

Do all level, curve, color adjustments etc. as needed

I've found this gives me the best tones for B&W, and is better than using the channel mixer alone.

Great shots. I like the B&W versions, the color shot also looks nice.

I like the second shot the most! I tried a different conversion for the color picture you poted.

I turned it into a duotone, then desaturated it a bit after that. only other thing I did was hit auto levels, and added some curvature:lol:

love it!
