Second shot really does it for me :D ...adding the foreground really makes it work. Although it sort of does detract from the car lights, makes your eye go left instead of right.

i love the angle you shot from in #2.. its really dynamic and gives a great perspective of the highway and city.

I love these. The composition is good, but to me the lighting and exposure are great and really draw me in.

I use the Russell Brown method. He is a guy from Adobe and it has always worked for me great. It allows you much more control over the channel mixer option:

Great shots, all of them! I like the color one best, too bad about those darned yellow blinkers. Come to Maryland, they don't install blinkers in cars here.. :P

I've always wanted to do this but always think I'm going to get run over. Can never get anyone to go with me as a lookout and to help. "Hey, lets go to an overpass and stand there for minutes on end." Nah, they always decline.

Great shot of Seattle. What a dream, empty I-5

Another method for B & W conversion.

1. Create a saturation adjustment layer, don't change anything and click ok

2. Add a 2nd saturation adjustment layer, then pull the saturation slider all the way to the left, don't make any other changes. Click ok

3. Go back to the 1st saturation adjustment layer, (on the bottom) go to mode change the blending mode to color.

4. Open the bottom adjustment layer after changing its blending mode, and move the Hue slider back and forth. It is similar to adding colored filters. You can adjust saturation to fine tune.

Many ways to do the same similar things

Thanks for the comments everyone! normally when I post stuff here I don't get too many
I think these were taken around 9pm. I kind of wish there were more cars out, so maybe I'll try to go out a little earlier next time. For those of you in Seattle (I know there's a few) this is on the Yesler way overpass. So convienent! you can park right on the overpass, and if you turn to the other side of the road,(opposite my pics) there's a cool view of the Amazon.com headquarters too!

Thanks, I'll have to try that method out...I keep wondering if I'm doing things the "right" way in PS. but I guess really there is no "'one" way. (except for HDR, everytime I try to do one of those they come out very, very bad - but thats a different post.)

I reckon that with the colour one, it would have a greater effect if the colours were more saturated, other than that, great work!

well done!

Thanks! I used the 50mm 1.8 for the first shot, and the Tokina 12-24 for the others.
