1D Technical Assistance needed...

In May 2006 I purchased 1D # 26,6XX with 11,000 actuations from a friend.
The camera was shooting L-jpg ONLY and that was fine with me.
Last week something changed and it now shooting Tiff-Ljpg.
The manual mentions nothing about L-jpg ONLY.
My friend says no custom function was added, as far as he knows.
The scroll down menu is set at raw-ljpg.
The back window is set to L.
Does anyone know how to return to L-jpg ONLY?

If the rear back small LCD says RAW then you will have TIFF-LJpg. Change it to L and it should shoot L-jpg only..

Are you sure that you've read the manual? Hold down "Quality" button and rotate the "Quick Control Dial" to set RAW and/or JPEG file.

I've switched it back and forth a few times; still tiff-ljpg.

Back up and running

Last week I activated *noise reduction* and that is when the tiff's appeared.

Does *noise reduction* work only with tiff and cause them to be written?
