Here are a couple of shots from a high school basketball game last night. Just got my nifty fifty and was very pleased with it. All comments and suggestions are welcome.

It mite be the web compression but they both look like they are very OOF.However the composition and action are great, just gotta get them sharp.

Digital photography is a fad.

Nice timing and shots... you may want to back of the denoising a tad though. Keep at it and congrats on the lens.

I agree, and your compression seems a bit to much. The majority of the people here could probably handle two 100-150kb files in a matter of seconds so theres no need to be pushing your image quality down to 50kb (which really takes away from the image imo).

and what were your reactions towards the use of a flash behind the net? hehe

I was at a volleyball game and stuck to 1600 ISO, f/2.8 and 1/250th rather than resort to the flash, but I am not sure how much it would distract them...

Actually, if anyone else has any tips on using a flash for shooting indoor sports, I would mind hearing their two cents... (maybe I should start a new thread now that I think of it)

Yeah, looking at it again I think the Noise Ninja was a little much. Thanks.

I've never had any coaches or players tell me the flash bothered them and I've asked plenty of times. I've tried shooting without the flash since I got the 50 f/1.8, but the lights are too bad to not use the flash.
