Canon IXUS 850 IS vs Canon IXUS 900 IS: which is better?

Hi,

Wondering which is better for these two recent Canon model?

Wider lens + IS vs. more pixels (IXUS 900 don“t have IS). Ixus 850 IS for me :)

Well, I got the 850IS and all I can say it is very hard to even think about what could be done better with current technology

a beautiful piece

(well, then, my other camera is a 30D and it is for another kind of usage)

I would concur with Ander.

From experience in using point and shoot, it has always been to my advantage to have the wider lens. You may relate to shooting groups of people and trying to squeeze family or friends together and most compacts have the start range of 37mm. The 850 has 28mm. The IS is nice and would chose this over more pixels.

In North America, the IXUS850 is the Powershot 800 IS, same camera. The 900 looks to be the same model here.
