I was just curious if there is a plug in for windows so that raw images will be viewable in the folder. I mean, say i open up my folder and all the files are in raw. They just look like files. But if they were in jpg format. the thumbnail would be viewable with out having to load up zoom browser/adobe bridge/whatever 3rd party program you use. It would be alot easier if i could just see the thumbnail without having to convert pictures to jpg first.

Unless they have done a recent update its not very good at all. Both times I've tried using it, it won't allow you to delete images from your desktop. The Faststone Image Viewer works a lot better.

Check to see if your camera's RAW files will work with the Microsoft viewer. I don't believe the latest models (30D, 400Xti) are compatible. Other than that, I've heard good things about the MS RAW viewer.

Date Published: 12/16/2005 _ I know for sure it does the 30D but most likely not the XTi.

Good to know about the 30D, I'll have to go back and give it another try.

In my aging brain I might better restate the above post as it doesn't support the 30D. When I had issues with the viewer I was using the XT.

Sorry about that ...

I don't know that it supports the 30d. See the post a couple before yours listing the cameras... (btw, d30 is not the same as 30d)
