There is a used EF-300mm f4.0 IS at the local camera shop for sale. It appears to be in good to excellent condition. They quoted me a price of $929.

I know "L"s have a high resale value, but is this a bit high?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Canon 6D & 7D. Panasonic GX85 and a number of ever changing lenses.

i think i "paid" $1150 plus tax for mine. i actually exchanged at a brick and mortar a 24-105L that was given to me as a gift so i "paid" a bit more than i normally would have.

if $929 is the final price i'd say go for it if all else checks out.

Yeah $929 is a bargain IMO if the lens is actually as described. Looks good to me.
