All with the 30D/100-400mm, handheld.

Those are awesome shots. I really like the first one of the Cormorant. They're really cool to watch!

Wow...phenomenal work here. Amazing detail and sharpness. Every shot is spectacular, but the 4th is probably my favorite.

Superb shots Keith. I particularly like the Sanderling shot. Not got to see any yet although they are fairly common I think.

Great shots and much jealousy from us. We love the Northumberland Coast and North East as a whole. We just wish we could get our photos of its wildlife as good as you. Back to drawing board again.

The sanderlings are wonderful. Love the colours. And the cormorant is so nicely posed. Who would ever think a cormorant could look so elegant. Great work.

Thanks to you both.

Cazray, there's really no secret to any of this (I've only been taking photos for a year and a bit and I manage) - just get out as much as you can, stick at it, ask questions of the good folks on here, and you'll be fine..!

;)

Just a point of accuracy: the "cormorant" here is actually a shag - related to cormorants but subtly different..!
