Hello eveyone, Here are my first attempts from the latest Summernats car festival in Canberra. All three were taken with a 350D and the 18-55 kit lens. What do you think?

All three are absolutely fantastic
The mustang in particular really jumps out at you being perfectly sharp while the bacground has just the right amount of blur

The top two are very good - but the third one is excellent :) Ya nailed it on that one!

Great shots mzad. Can you please explain how you achieved the look in the first and last photographs? Can I assume the first shot was achieved by panning, or was it blurred in post-production? How did you blur the last image?

Thanks Hawg, All three had the background blurred during post production with Photoshop.

I see. Was it a box blur in Photoshop CS2? Do you recall how much you applied? I also notice that part of the wheels are blurred on the last shot. Do you include that part of the car when you blurred the background or was that a result of shutter speed when you photographed the cars?
