How does everyone carry their Tripods? I have two Camera bags and both don't offer a solution for carrying such a BEAST ( :p 3021BPRO).. I was looking at Manfrottos websitre and I seen these three options that looked like either might work.. anyone have comments about the straps/bags or another option..(PLEASE POST PICTURES) Thanks

I made my own sling from a piece of climbing rope, does exactly what I want, I had a shoulder pad anyway so it's nice and comfy.

I get allsorts of Good comments when using it as it is so versatile:cool:

I use a op/tech tripod strap it is padded and has a bit of stretch that helps with the weight I also use a tent pole bag sometimes. I have a gitzo basalt tripod so weight is not really an issue for me.

I really like the look of the 401N QUICK ACTION STRAP . Reminds me of some type of futuristic arrow sling. And the DIY in me does not want to put down $50+ on that (B&H price) although very eye appealing, at least to me:)

I have the MBAG100P TRIPOD BAG PADDED, it's a little bulky but it's great for flying. I've just been down under and it had 8 flights in total without any problems, there is also room to put a few clothes in as well, just in case your main luggage gets lost. :)

I have the MBAG70 and it suits me fine. Fits nicely alongside my Slingshot 200 and is easy enough to use. If I'm moving around a lot then I keep the empty bag on my back and carry the tripod on my shoulder.

Most often when in the field, I use the Long Strap and sling the tripod across my back. For travel, I use a bag to carry the tripod.

I used to use a camera strap to an O- or D-ring attached to the top and to a Velcro closure around the legs. My Manfrotto came with a loop-type strap and my Slik with a carry bag. All work adequately.

For me, the 102 strap for transporting for ready access to my 3021 during walkabout work...just take if off the shoulder and extend the legs and spread them, and ready to shoot. The loop end of the 102 goes over one leg only; I use a hook-and-loop cinch strap to keep the three legs together, as this is much faster than using the shoulder strap loop to tie the three together.

But the entire tripod + strap I put into a padded tripod bag (I think Vivitar name on it) in the trunk of the car or for storage. It is somewhat like the MBAG70, except triangular in section, and I had purchased at a store clearance reduction.

When I had a tripod in the UK, it went into an over shoulder tripod bag. I kept getting stopped by the police who wanted to know why I was walking around with a rifle over my shoulder. My monopod had string tied to the ends and the string was what I used to carry it - again, slung over my shoulder. In the US I don't have a tripod carrying solution unless you call my SUV a tripod carrier :p

I did have an over-shoulder camera bag but the tripod straps on that, when a tripod was attached just made it completely unwieldy. I had tripod straps on a photographers' vest but again it made it awkward and unwieldy. String or rope seems the best idea.
