The original Canon camera was created in partnership with the fameous Japanese optical company.... Nikon.

In fact all Canon cameras from 1936 to 1948 were marketed and sold with Nikon Lenses....Nikon "Nikkor" lenses were used in Canon cameras until 1948, when Nikon created its first camera.

There are rare Canon lenses for the Nikon Mount (WHY, OH WHY NIKON! WHY NOT FOLLOW THE ZEISS STANDARD INSTEAD OF THE LEICA?).

Don't know who moved it, but it was really the right thing to do. This is really fascinating. Thanks for putting it together. I'm just wonderwing what kind of bag you'd need to carry that 220-lb lens. :shock:

That exact kit, the Canon 7 with the 50mm f 0.95 is sitting in a sale case at Skoda camera in Prague.

Now lets get the 5200mm lens and put a small sensor DSLR on the back. Think what a great argument we could have about crop factor.
