Which really controls it's accuracy? I hear people talking all the time about having a lens that is perfectly sharp, or sometimes not, but is it only the lens? Reason I'm asking is because I'm starting to notice that A LOT of my shots look great in the camera's LCD, but like crap in my monitor, focus-wise. Obviously due to the difference in screen size, but I used to be able to see the missed shots easily, and now I'm not realizing I've missed the shot until I get home and see the full rez.
I always shoot with the center spot selected, with one shot auto focus. And I've noticed that after auto focus has locked onto the subject...like a subject's eyes....that I can improve it ever so slightly if I switch to manual focus and adjust it. This missing of perfect focus seems to be across the board, with varying apertures. Of course sometimes it will nail the focus so perfectly it's hard to believe, but it seems to be becoming rare these days.
I'm thinking about having either my lens and/or body calibrated and checked out. Which way do you think I should go with this?
BTW, this is a 30D with a couple of nice L lenses.
