90% AV - but I won't lie, I do catch myself on P mode 10% of the times.
I have experimented with all the creative modes, and I'm striving to learn all the various modes to the best of my ability. But yeah, mostly AV for now since i'm still novice at all of this.

Im a control freak, so M most of the time.
Unless I'm drunk, then I trust P to be in more control than I am :)

So long and thanks for all the flash

Question for all your M junkies, how long do you take framing a shot, how many shots do you take (different setting), how much post processing do you do? Just curious, I'm new to the Digital world an havn't got into any post processing yet. Thanks.

Well, it depends entirely on the situation. I did a shoot today - M mode, studio lights, about 500 shots (4 outfits on two models) in about 2 hours (including time for the models to change). Post processing tomorrow will take me abou 4 hours (cull the shots, clean up any I need to clean up). I'll deliver to the client by the end of the day.

When I was shooting M tonight? Less than a split second. That's the beauty of M. Set it, forget it. Processing? A little color work, a little brightness.

Really? Try shooting with your flash sometime in P, Av, and M and see how things work out. I think you need to do a bit of reading and practicing yet. EOS Flash works quite differently in each of those modes. But to each their own.

Mark

i did not use flash

P allows the camera to decide for you your depth of field, and to make a judgement on what shutter speed you need. Neither descion ought to be left to the computer when you can easily pick for yourself.

in P i can setup aperture

Mostly AV for me. But when I want to be sure of a certain speed the I'll jump over to TV or M

I prefer 3 shot bursts followed by a couple of granades to really lay things down. :D

If you want to shoot ultra wide angle,,,then use a 12,gauge.

There is a fine line between "hobby" and "obsession"

M 70-80% of the time since I’m generally shooting under studio flash. For the other 20-30% I use AV or TV interchangeably.

I have never used any of those preset modes, "Sports" "Landscape" etc.. mainly because RAW isnt available in those.

I use AV & M modes, roughly 50-50.

Nick :-)

Why bother with shifting P when you can just set it in the first place?

For general walking around & travel photography mostly it is P.
I do overide it if I want a greater depth of field etc.
For motor racing it is either TV or in Sports mode.
Will use TV/AV/M when the situation warrants it ie: Candids/night photograpky, strong back light etc.
