great shots in this thread, starting to Jones for one of these....but.....
Has anyone had both the Canon and the Sigma EX 15mm? Curious as to the differences.

I've rented the Canon & bought the Sigma. There aren't many differences in IQ from what I can tell. The Sigma has a quieter AF and the lens cap was designed much better than the Canon. Other than that there aren't many differences. They're close to the same size, both 2.8, IQ comparable... for me it just came down to price.

It's the only Sigma lens I own because you can compare the lenses based on IQ & price alone since all the other bells & whistles do not exist for these lenses.

Here's a recent photo...

Upper McCord Creek Falls in the Columbia River Gorge
Photo taken with 1D/EF 15 f/2.8 combo, Av=f/16, Tv=1/4, ISO=100, Exp. Comp=-2/3

I PP this photo using Aperture. And I "de-fished" it using a plug-in from Fisheye-Hemi from Image Trends. This lens makes for a great wide angle...

The lens hood is permanently attached on this lens... did you break it off?

bannedPermanent ban

Switched to the 15mm from the Tokina 10-17 because of the horrible chromatic abberations on the Tokina. I'm actually digging the little bit less distortion (using this on a 1D, 1.3x crop).

I've just borrowed the fish from a friend, but I think I'll end up buying it. No PP, corrections or anything on any of the above shots :)

I don't have a full-frame camera, so the lens is working like a wide lens ;)

Does anyone ever rectify the pics taken with this lens?
