Glad to hear he's recovering quickly. It is amazing how tough these little guys are. Good thing, too.

He's 24, just a bit small for his age.

I imagine all your military training helped you stay calm. You have to have at least one calm member in the family. ![]() Dan To be honest, my mother-in-law handled the situation really well too. She was the emotional anchor for the family until I arrived on the scene. Super lady! MDJAK wrote in post #2552669 Glad he's okay. Thats one thing I was worried when you mentioned all going to Afrika. I bet a trip like that is hard on a little one specially to a country where there just isnt enough money for good hospitals and high tech equipment like here. Poor guy. www.forever-yesterday.com

I love travelling in Ethiopia and was always concerned about medical care for for my group. But our only mishap was a broken arm in the middle of nowhere that 2 of us reset and then drove 5 hours to get a cast put on. Glad you had a good outcome. "If you're not living on the edge. I hope he is better and that you all got to enjoy the trip somewhat anyway! I guess he is toughened up for the next visit there now ![]() love that last picture.. he is so handsome I don't think the fever was a direct result of the wound. The wound never got infected, so we think, based on others experiences over there, the change in climate would've resulted in a fever whether or not he got hurt at all. I don't plan on taking any more small children on those kinds of trips in the future. Too long of a flight for the little guy and too much to worry about when you're there. My kids won't start traveling internationally until they're about 4 or 5. Az2Africa wrote in post #2554813 I'm late to this thread LM, but happy to see your youngster doing well.
