Just my 2 pennies worth but i'm not liking the theme so far, it seems a little too simplistic substituting film for drugs. Maybe you could try to find a theme showing the extremes people go to to get a shot. the 600mm lenses, The elaborate setups for macro, The L addiction. I'm sure there are other ways of showing the addiction too.
Maybe as a photographer ( very amateur ) there is something about comparing something I like to all of the negative things surrounding drugs that puts me off of the series. Although I'm sure the addiction to l lenses and a bigger and better body, Tripod, flash. etc has ruined several relationships it is nowhere as destructive as drugs.
As I said just my 2 cents.

( of course I am hoping my girlfriend is not home when the ups truck arrives on Thursday)

Agreed. I think this theme is too heavy and way off the mark for an upbeat magazine. Junkie can also be for food, music, that kind of stuff, doesn't have to be drugs which is a very controversial, and not funny subject.

Perhaps you could advance to a digital theme and replace the rolls of film with cf cards. all in all, a good series.

I think the project was dealt with appropriately. I don't think it was ever intended to be funny. The ideas have been excellently transferred into the digital medium, and to me they say that photography (like many other things) can become something that some people feel they couldnt live without, and as such, likening it to drug abuse is the most effective way of doing this (by using an extreme). I really enjoy looking at these images, and i've done so several times now, and if this series was to grow, i for one would be one of it's most avid viewers.

Way to go sarah.

Hey, lighten up.:D
This series is supposed to communicate with kids. And ifit works, it'll turn em onto a passion for photography and making art instead of drugs and making dead. It's edgy humor that upsets some poeple.Wow! I wish I could start a conversation with my images.

These are clever, well executed, and provocative.

You know regardless of how you feel about this series of images, that last sentence isn't controvertial. And what's interesting is that people are feeling about those images, as well as thinking about the idea they communicate.

Imagine if people felt that all of the images posted here were clever, well executed, and provocative! Or even most of them. Or... or... what if they felt that way about ... MY STUFF!

YIPPEEEEE!

Thanks for sharing Sarah.
