Hi I was just wondering if any of you guys have purchased screen protectors for your camera, and if you would recommend it? I'm thinking of getting a sticker-like (self adhesive) one for mine.

Not on any of mine. The EOSes have a hard plastic cover from the factory and the A620's screen is usually stowed.

My LCD screen is very well protected by the swivel. I use the EVF on my S2 though.

I used in my old Sony DSC-S60 a LCD Screen protector film made in the beggining for palm screens, i just cut the film to the exact size and i put in the screen, because the film don´t have that kind of glue that leaves a glue mark or trail i think that it´s fine, I´ll put the same kind of film in the LCD Screen in my S2 IS tomorrow.

Believe, the film keep your screen clean, and protect her from minor scratches and dust.

Is the protector film like a sticker? Or like a piece of silicon gel that is just placed on the screen?

Is like sticker... generally, is a piece of 2" x 3" so you must to cut to the exact size, i get 3 sheets of this film from a site similar to ebay (deremate.com.co) in my country, but i think that you can get in other stores, ask for protector film for palm or ipaq screens.

The users in a GPS forum I participate in highly recommend the Invisible Shield (external link). The difference stated by their manufacturer Shieldzone.com is that the protector is permanent and comes with a lifetime guarantee. I have an Invisible Shield on my GPS and Canon A540 LCD screens. The shield is invisible and does not cut any light from the screen.

Unfortunately, in my country this is impossible to get... damn!

Check these out--------- it's a 1/16" scratch resistant hard acrylic --bullet proof
Not only will is help with the scratches but these larger lcd screens on todays
compacts are fragile.

Ooh, thank you. Yeah I wasn't too sure if I would need one, because i have the a630 so I can always swivel the screen around to protect it. Will the sticker kind leave excess 'stick' if I were to ever take the protector off of it?

I've got one installed on my SD600 (the daproduct screen) and it is a great purchase! I was so concerned about leaving my camera in my pocket before, and actually, the day before I bought the protector, my camera fell off my desk and apparently hit something on it's way down, leaving a little dent in the middle of the screen. It wasn't quite what I thought it was when I purchased it, as it is simply a flat piece of plastic that affixes to the outside frame around the screen using thin double stick tape (provided). But I think it is a great product and I recommend it to all my friends and family. It is a solid, thick piece of plastic and I removed it a few times when I first got it, just because I didn't clean appropriately the first time, but I doubt it would leave any residue, especially since it attaches to the camera body, not the screen, and that should be easy to clean.

What do you mean by the protector being permanent? You can't take it off once you remove it? Would it leave a sticky residue?

By "permanent" I mean that the intended use of a Shieldzone Invisible Shield is to put it on and leave it there for the life of the LCD screen. It is virtually indestructible in everyday use, so it doesn't need to be changed out from time-to-time like many other screen protectors. It is removable. Any residue that may remain can be removed with a little soapy water and a soft cloth.

I also have the Invisible Shield on my S3 and my cell phone screens, and it is a great product. They are pre-cut to fit your LCD, which means you don't have to cut it yourself. And they are easy to remove; my cell phone died and had to be sent back to the carrier; the Invisible Shield came off with no problem. And best of all, they did not charge to replace the ones I had to remove.
