Is there any need to worry about my photos being corrupted or my camera being affected by airport scanning machinery. If so, what precautions can I take?
thanks

If you want to be cautious, put your camera in the little box with your wallet and change. Either way, you might have to turn the camera on and show them that it works. Sometimes they also take a picture.
