Feng, I believe something about their verification dept. having trouble with Australian banks or something like that. There may be a way to mail/fax in verification (such as copy of CC, etc) but I never bothered looking into it further. I just went to Adorama for any small purchases.
Just thought if one of you two had already done that then it would save me going through it all. I know, I'm a bit lazy.

Copy that, about the AU$1000.

Reece, thanks for the heads up. If I had a camera I would've joined you on the Saturday.

Nick - I had to send them a scan of my credit card, back and front. Which I don't agree with and I sent them a tersely worded comment about it when they asked me to fill out a customer satisfaction survey.

Feng, all I want is a Singh-Ray 3 stop soft (external link) and a 2 stop hard (external link)

Paul! get off the computer and go exploring!

^^ i was also pretty peeved at that, then they wanted me to send a bank statement. I told em if they want a bank statement they can call up my bank and get it themselves. anyway, Adorama are pretty good though i use digitalRev for most of my stuff.

Also what happened to your gear nick? ima bit out of the loop.

Yeah, I thought it would be something like that. Like you Helen I'm not too keen on that.

Yeah I've never had a problem with Adorama. They took my card no problem - no verification or anything needed.

Whoa, those GNDs are pricey aren't they? Wouldn't multiple exposures+graduated mask in PS do a similar thing?

They are pricey Nick but very much worth it, as they are 110% neutral unlike a lot of the cheaper ones that may be a reddish gray or a bluey gray. I have gotten this far with doing multi-exposures etc but I am getting sick of having to spend the time in PS playing round and would much rather bag it one outside. Plus I have a problem with multi-exposures with the bloody trees and clouds moving too much between shots.

Pretty much the same price on most things. The only downside is they don't seem to carry as many (or all the same) lines as B&H.

yeah that is what I found Nick. My filters I have 3 choices as to where to get them - Sing-Ray or Mountain Light (Galen's company) both of whom have rather high shipping charges and sell nothing else or BH.

I don't know if it really classifies as a subliminal message but I will pay 5pts for that call Alexson. When I have the filters in my hand and start posting images of look at this photo, and then x says "how did you do it?" and I say "well X, I used these gorgeous filters to even my exposure, you should try them out". That is subliminal.

I think it is a matter of classification between direct and indirect subliminal messages ... Now, you are the latter guard .... and who would be the first one then LOL.

Have a great purchase any how everybody :D hheheheh

A b&h order.... I need some stuff but I think I've just about spent about everything I got from the sale of some of my shares. Once I get my 5D I think I'll have enough left for a bag to put it all in and half a tripod :S

Ahh well next time!

half a tripod :(

I actually want to get a tripod from B&H, but have a sinking suspicion that I'll be over the $1000 by the time I get the other more important things.

with the toys you've just bought, you're not allowed to buy any more :) *grin*

awww come on Feng, just a few more! I like this spending money busiess!

lol, yeah, half a tripod. By the time I get everything that I need I'll have about $200 left for a decent tripod, so I don't think I'll quiet get there. I'd like a monopod too. And I need more more memory, and a cpl filter, and some books, and CS3, and some studio lighting, and some....well I think you get it, the list goes on!

Does it ever end?
