Maybe their taking photos? :D

Yep, I was. It was train club day, so I spent time driving annoying little sh*ts around the track as well. Haha, actually they weren't that bad. I've had worse. ;)

You know... I have an hour and a half to kill before I head over to Bardon at 6pm. So if any of you are at the meeting spot between 4:45 and 5:15 I might come over and say "hi" before I have to get dinner. :)

Will do. Haven't been feeling 100% of late, don't want to tip the balance and make myself feel really crappy instead of a little crappy

Been studying fluids, did you know that to reduce the drag over a non aerodynamically shaped object, it is better to increase the surface turbulence in order to reduce the overall pressure drag on the object?

Well you know now, who knows that that will come in handy for you all.

and on that note the light outside is quite amazing, pics time.

That's interesting to me 'cos I think that's the principle behind the "dimples" on a golf ball:D

I heart golf!

lol, that would not be a pretty sight.

Hmmm. I think you're right; just look at any keen cyclist. Gotta keep the dangly bits in check there.

actually i have never thought of that Paul, thats actually quite interesting. Always good to find something what actually uses all this theory work and puts it to practical use.

When you say "crappy", do you mean:

A. Needing several changes of underwear.

B. Depressed and feeling sorry for oneself.

C. Chundering every morning, crying a lot, craving weird foods.

D. Sore throat, aching joints, pesky husband.

you may select more than one response

K from wikipedia:

Firstly, the dimples delay separation of the boundary layer from the ball. Early separation, as seen on a smooth sphere, causes significant wake turbulence, the principal cause of drag. The separation delay caused by the dimples therefore reduces this wake turbulence, and hence the drag.

Indeed you are right, im actually quite chuffed about that. just finished work on boundary layers as well so it all makes perfect sense now!!

If it is "C" then it's not going to be camera gear you will be buying in the near future... ;)
