Ahaa! Greg's and my subliminal ploy has worked!:D

Has not :p. I realised that need by observing the limitations of my equipment. :p

( NB: For those that are confused, I separated that second comment from the first one but Paul commented before I had finished :))

My dad had a tamron 28-300mm for a couple of weeks. Seemed like a good range for a film set up, just not for a crop DSLR. The optics wernt that great but they certainly wernt bad either, especially for the price.

Wow. That could make both my lenses redundant :D But I don't know. What is the maximum aperture/s?

f3.5-6.3, so its a bit slow on the long end. Its a macro lens as well though (apparently). There is also the 28-200 f3.8-5.6, which is a bit less expensive but almost identical.

here is links to both on B&H,

Excellent Anzac shots everyone, really liked parade shots. Justin and I went to the dawn service in the city, caught the train with everyone else, couldn't get anywhere near to take any shots. went and shot city sunrise, had a play with some panorama.

Andrew, whereabouts were you at the service? I was on the bottom of the square about 40 metres away from Adelaide St.

Nice panos, Andrew. Looks like you took a bit of a walk. I particularly like the look of the second. Pity they're so small :(

There is not a BBQ there (yet), but there is a big deck and a large back yard. I may be able to organise something. Let me do some investigation.

Who's going to be there? PS for those that don't want to go back and find out where it was, it'll be at Moorooka.
