Hi,

I took a picture of a building which is bright against the night sky. I found tiny white spots on the dark sky. why?

I deleted the pic so I cannot show you all. Is it the flash that contribute to the white spot?

Thanks

Reflections of the flash off dust or other particles (rain, say) in the air is the commonest cause. Without the pictures that's still only a guess.

This is out-of-focus dust being highlighted by the on-camera flash. Use an off camera flash and this will be greatly reduced. This is a feature of the flash being so close to the lens it is the dust equivalent to red-eye.

Max
There's no such thing as a bad photo, just the wrong audience.
EQUIPMENT: Canon Powershot S3 IS, 2x Transcend 2GB x150 SD, 2x 4GB Class 4 Dane-Elec SDHC, LensMate 52mm Adapter Tube and lots of stuff to hang on it.
A couple of flashes and a couple of strobes. My other camera is a Sony DSC-P200.
