Since I have another to PP, might as well call this one part 1

Looking out from the community of Quidi Vidi on the east coast of Newfoundland. Just beyond where the two hills meet is the Atlantic Ocean.

Thanks for looking
C&C always

Frank, I love the reflections and sharpness in this shot but find the sky is too distracting as it is alot more yellow than the reflection fo the sky. If you can bring back the original sky the shot will have a lovely symetry.

I don't know why I didn't pick up on this while processing Neil, but your absolutley right, it is distracting. I thought if I apply the same processing to the sky, do the same for the reflection...I guess not. Thanks for pointing that out;)

Definitely agree with Neil on this one. The color of the sky just throws off the reflection too much. If the sky looked like the reflection (nice white clouds), then this image takes on a whole new feel. Are you working on it right now, Frank? ;)

Since the layers got flattened during PP, this was the best I could do with the original.
While staring at the image and scratching my head, I wondered what had gone wrong, and it suddenly occurred to me that, one to many glasses of stout probably didn't help much...:lol::lol:

Thanks again Neil and Jim for your C&C.

Frank, I just have one question. The hills seem to have a "glowing" look to them (more obvious in first picture). I was wondering if this was from your post processing work? It's not a big deal, but, to me, it is a little distracting when looking between the hills.

Beautiful image, Frank. I took several from that exact spot, but none that covered the entire scene. Of course, you have all the snow and perfectly still water, not the case for me.

Only PP done to the hills was apply contrasting through levels, a little saturation and sharpening.
I like to keep my images as natural and realistic as I can without making them look to surreal.

Thanks Stan. Once winter hits here everyhting gets covered so I'm trying to condition myself accordingly. I like alot of color so winter is not my most favorite time of the year. I much perfer three seasons than four :)

I have a similar problem with single malt ;) it is better but not perfect, shame you flattened it. I always convert my Raw to Tiff and then save the PSd with adjustments and layers so I can go back, but this can lead to 300MB files :| so might not do it like that for long :)

Beautiful Frank, and the processing of your second version certainly helps to bring out the beauty.
