was going down to my place and found my smaller cat toying with this snake, i am in costa rica and am having trouble findin what type of snake, i have found red black yellow, but not this style of band.. anyone any ideas

CharlieD Member 173 posts Joined Nov 2006 Location: Tampa, FL More info | Jan 18, 2007 18:49 | #13 in the future i would probably suggest that if you dont know what you are doing dont touch it...especially if you are not sure if it is poisonous or not...coral snakes are a pretty common poisonous snake (at least here in Florida they are). also there is a variety of kingsnake that uses the same colors but, as others said, with the red and black bands touching. kingsnakes are non-poisonous but, as with any snake, can still give a painful bite!
