here's the real paradox... I was planning a ski trip for the coming weekend -- our school district had a planned teacher workday on monday, which meant a 3-day weekend, allowing travel.

now, with that pathetic 1 inch snowfall, school is cancelled today, and monday's workday is now a school make-up day, so I loose my 3-d weekend and can't go skiing because it snowed.

go figure.

That's not even a dusting around here!
But down in Tennessee, if there was even the threat of snow, everybody would run to the grocery store and hoard all edible products just in case it was a repeat of the storm of '93.

An inch of snow brings the entire south of England to a halt, guaranteed. Everyone behaves like they've never seen it before, crash their cars like crazy, the trains stop running, motorways become parking lots and people freeze in their cars....

It's amazing how different parts of the country (and world) react to the elements differently. Like the picture shows a hint of snow will shut some southern areas down that rarely see snow. And other areas measure snow by the foot not the inch regularly.

That was called snow? Tell me you're kidding.

Seriously, I've seen bigger frosts.

Woke up at 4 am from sleet hitting the house. Got up, had some coffee, got ready for work and grabbed the camera on the way out the door. I was very disappointed. We actually got about 2" at my house.

What is worse, people laid out of work today because of the snow..... (well worked from home) sad, very sad.
