Are my images over saturated?

I do all of my image processing at home on my laptop (haven't hooked up my CRT since the move). My monitor at home is calibrated using Spyder2Pro. I process all my images in the sRGB color space. I looked at some of the shots I posted recently on my monitor at the office and all my shots seem more saturated than what I would like. Now I know the monitor in my office is not calibrated, but when I view other images, which seem like most are a little oversaturated too, they are not to the degree mine seem to be. Now I'm starting to wonder if something is off at home. For example, to me it looks as though there's a little too much red in the skin tone. But at home it seems fine. How is everyone else seeing this image?

I went and looked at some of the shots I posted from my recent trip to Ethiopia and all of them look a little too "rich" from here as well.

For the most part I want my images to be colorful and vibrant, but I'm hoping these aren't as overdone as they appear from here. Thoughts?

Hard to say since it's pretty subjective. Are they oversaturated in the sense that they look "wrong"? No, I would say most likely not. Would I have processed them with less saturation? Sure, but that's my style.

I think the skin tones look ok IMO, the lighting is a bit too harsh for me which leads a bit to the "super vibrant colours" look, but I don't personally think the saturation is wrong here.

"little too much red"

Well that's subjective at best, but I like your pictures. They do however pop just a little, but I like them that way. I wouldn't take the sat down too far.

Yeah, I know it's subjective, but maybe I'm just freaking out because I'm used to seeing these images on my monitor at home and not anywhere else. When I view them on another monitor it just seems wierd. Wasn't much I could do about the lighting on the bride's face when I took the shot. There was a spotlight that the "paid photographers" illuminated the area with, so I just took advantage of it. Anyway, thanks guys. I guess I'm just being paranoid and overreacting. lol

The lighting in the room where you are viewing the monitors can make a big difference. The more greenish cast of flourescents usually used in the office will make the reds stand out on an otherwise balanced image.

They've looked good to me so far!

I'm going through a similar thing though, I use a sony laptop which has got the xblack screen on it. On looking at an image on my dads lcd 17" flat earlier it lacked the pop the xblack has on it.

Anyone know anything about balancing the images on an xblack?

I'm almost always wrong...its what happens when you're learning. And stupid.

They are definitely juiced, but they look fine to me. It seems to suit that particular batch of pictures well.

Lord_Malone, it looks just a tad saturated to me but not very much. It may be the lighting that is throwing me off. I like the picture though. For me, it's hard to get the saturation right with African American skin (I too am Black) because we come in all shades. I really have to back off the saturation some.

And that's what I typically do as well. I thought I toned her skinned down significantly and it looks perfect on my monitor at home. But when I viewed the image at the office I was like WTF?
