Thanks everybody to watching and make comment.
To find one, check your local birding association for observation record. When you know some place, just go there regularly They are not always easy to see as they usualy perch in dense evergreen and usualy change spot every night. My trick is to watch in the ground and low branch for white dejection, after a couple hour in the same spot there's a lot down. Even if it's there, sometimes I just don't find it.

Nice catch. It's always a treat to be able to see a Saw-whet in person. I hear it is still there in the Boucherville woods. Hope to make a trip there soon.
