Not only does it capture the real effect of Summer being over and heading back to school, but fron a kids point of view, the somber dark, stormy clouds just serves in their minds as an omen of things to come. Great shot.

I had a "Steven King" moment when I planned this image. I wanted the bus to appear to be almost self-propelled... racing along, vacuuming up the kids of summer as it roared along the lonely back roads under a disconcerting sky. But I tried not to go over the top, I wanted it to be edgy without getting crazy. As I worked on it, I played a Ry Cooder soundtrack from a little watched movie, "Last Man Standing." I really like the movie's theme song... You know, it makes you sense that someting not quite comfortable could happen. Did I express a fidgety feeling with this image? Hope so...

Thanks for the compliments.

Ted

This capture and processing look fantastic. First its not just about a bus on the road, it gave me the feeling that the bus was out running a storm. It's difficult to explain just a great capture. The textures too work so well.

I'm gonna have to order CS2.3 now, and upgrade to CS3 when it comes out in a few mos. I can't wait to try my hand at such! I'm sure it won't ever compare to the superior work you've shown us with this fantastic photo.

I'll be the odd man out I guess. I don't like it. The composition is good but the processing in the sky is very very obvious. It doesn't look natural at all. Sorry.
