Here is my situation, I have been doing amatuer photography for a long time. About 8 months ago I started doing it as a "semi pro" to see if I have what it takes.

I have done several portrait sessions and recently was asked if I would shoot the christmas party for a local district of a billion dollar company, (50,000 employees) . I agreed did this event for cheap, thinking the exposure was worth more than $$$. My stragedy worked as this company was so impressed with my work that they booked me for the state wide christmas party next year.

Tonight, I was called by one of this companies regional managers and asked if I wanted another job. The CEO, President and several VPs are going to be here opening a new multi-million dollar location and touring the exsiting ones. They want me to cover this event and provide a high quality CD for reprint on thier website and in their company paper. They said the whole job would be between 4-6 hours.

How much do I charge... should I do it for a more reasonable price and continue to WOW them hoping for bigger things or charge the going price, (whatever that is). This company does lots of print work, marketing in it's locations ect. maybe I could land if I remain less expensive.

Your thoughts?

Thank you for you time and input.

Charge them the real rate as you wont do yourself any favors in the long run. As you say you have impressed them so far and if they ask why the price increase is alot just state that the first job you did was for exposure to the ammount of people that you could get business from in the future where as now your only shooting half a dozen people that probably wont want your services for anything other that business corporate shots.

Congratulations! You've graduated to the big leagues. You should charge them full professional rate since they will be using the images in the media.
