I'm looking for a camera and lens organizer which I can use for safely storing all of my camera gear that is slowly but surely growing. Since I'm a huge fan of KATA line of bags, I'm currently looking into their new product, KATA OC-84, seen here:

Does anyone own this case? If not, do you have a great product that you'd recommend? Basically I want to have all of my stuff in the sig below and few other accessories in one, well-protected bag or case.

What's the model for the Pelican case? And can it hold everything in my sig?

it'll definetly fit everything in your sig. but, you might not need one this big.

Hmmm... just the kind of organizer I'm looking for. I'll look into this, although I'm still leaning towards Kata for its built and esthetics.

Awad -

Since you also own Kata bags, what's your opinion on their comparative built? What's the pros and cons of the Pelican case? Price-wise, they're about the same.

well the pelican case is completely sealed and waterproof and the outer case is almost indestructable, it also has a built in handle and wheels, so you dont have to carry a seperate dolly.

the kata looks like a soft case, which isnt bad at all, but i just wanted a more rugged case.

Okay, that last photo you provided helps a great deal. Thanks, awad! :D

Oh, is there any cons to the Pelican?

Okay, I did some research on the Pelican product, and I'm sold. The deciding factor was that I can buy the Pelican 1614 (1600 with divider) at BH Photo for $167.95 which is the cheapest I've found. Too bad they don't accept any orders until late Saturday....

This particular case model is a bit large for me, but I'm anticipating that my gear will only grow....

I'm almost certain you're right about that!;)
I've been a long time user of Pelican cases for firearms and can attest to their durability. I only wish it was easier to figure out the right size to fit all my camera stuff.

Yea, I know what you mean. Since I couldn't figure out the right size for me, I decided to buy a larger size... :D

Yeah, that's pretty much my only option as well. I wish there was a shop around here that stocks all the sizes so I can figure it out.

one con. the latches. definite knucklebusters. so hard to close.
