Im not usually one to set up a shot in order to portray a particular theme, but an idea struck me last night. I was watching a film where the protagonist misses an opportunity that is so obvious to the viewers (dramatic irony i believe it's called). I thought id try and portray a similar thing in a single still image.

I'll show you the image, and should it need it, i'll explain it all later for those of you who dont work it out.

I thought at least the two canon lenses in the shot would have had someone sniffing around!

(yeah, i know this is blatant 'look at my post' behaviour, sorry folks)

The 'lady' in the picture is a man. Erm, me, to be more specific.

I really need to 'man up' .... erm, where's the weights and chewing tobacco?

Ouch! If it makes you feel better, I knew it was you and that you are of the male persuasion! haha! I really like this shot. I don't see too many of these type of conceptual shots though I dont seek them. I think this is awesome though.

Hey I like it :D I did feel like there must obviously be some importance to the call, like a GF, or friend, or ex type of thing. So I guess that came across fairly well as intended.

I couldn't tell at first what you were doing in the scene, but it did in fact look like you were on another phone.

Pretty cool, the whole story-telling idea of the picture is alot of fun.

I definitely like your theme, although you are a bit too OOF for me to realize what it is you are doing in the background whilst the phone is ringing. Of course after reading it, I can see it clearly. lol A bit more dof perhaps and it would be spot on.

TLC - cheers mate, i think so too :S
Athena - i did take some at different aperture settings but i sort of wanted to remain anonymous, which means the act of speaking on the phone has become less noticeable.

Thank you for your comments :D
