Hello,

The nexto cf natively supports CF format, I also have other memory card formats and I saw a 17-1 adapter from Nexto but I wish to avoid ordering internationally. I did however see a picture where a usb carder reader was used on the USB OTG interface? Then a SD card was plugged into the card reader. Can the contents be uploaded through the USB OTG?

Thanks

Foggy

Hey Foggy, did you order the Nexto? I'm thinking of ordering one on Monday for my trip to Gambia but am thinking twice because I won't need it when I get back? Just wondering if I should just buy another 4GB CF card and just limit myself to about 75 images a day. I'm sure that's going to be enough.

Yep I sure did, I bought AngryHampsters Nexto (the guy above) and its on its way here from the mail :)

Last time I went on vacation I brought my laptop which stayed in the hotel - at the time I had about 6 gigs in total over 3 cards - I shot many in raw+jpeg - defeintly not enough :) I had to go back to the hotel just to offload the cards... I highly recommend some portage storage just for these locations!

I'll always find it useful even outside of vacations - weddings (that I attend as a guest) - i like to shoot raw alot but sometimes it just takes too long to go through raw workflow process - setting white balance and other little things - sometimes those friends of yours say hey where are the wedding pictures?

So now if I could I'd like to shoot in jpeg+raw - well that is my situation 6gigs is simply not enough - I could buy more but having that 40 gig device is good - besides you can use that to transfer files from other people's computer :)

I would never want to limit the number of pictures that I can take. If you can't take a laptop, it's a great investment. Served me very well on my trip to India.

lol hampster, I saw some of your photos of the locals in India, some of them looked kinda angry :)

I like to take candid pictures of people in events or somewhere I'm vacationing. Yet I am not at the point where I feel comfortable asking them if they feel comfortable for a shot. I really like some of the national geographic type shots where they apporach a kid and they get a great shot - you know the look of the subject's eyes tells alot of the hardships they've gone thru.

In time I suppose...
