POTN moved from sVGA (800x600) to XGA (1024x768)
I think it's quite a common number of pixels; my old 12" powerbook has a 1024x768 pixels screen

When in the Save For Web dialog box you can specify a particular file size and Photoshop will get the best quality that will fit into that file size. On this menu: ![]() Next click on the little triangle button above the Optimize checkbox (I highlighted it in red). From the flow-out menu choose "Optimize To File Size" - (if it's greyed out click on your right image and try again). ![]() Next, enter the file size and set the other options: ![]() When you click on OK the settings will be automatically adjusted to fit the size specified. Now click on the Save button and give it a name. It's that simple. Saw this talk while looking for batch / script info.

The quality setting calculated for the image used to record the action gets recorded in the action... I'd just use the image processor with a size of 800 x 800 entered and a jpg setting that gets you "close enough" for filesize. "I think the idea of art kills creativity" - Douglas Adams
