I have a Canon A620, I am an amateur photographer, and I'm looking to expand my camera's capabilities. I've been searching Amazon for lens and came across the very affordable Opteka and HD Pro brands.

Are they any good considering the price and quality? Anyone familiar with Opteka and HD Pro? I am so tempted to purchase these, but I don't want to regret it.

I added some links to the lens I am thinking about buying from Amazon.

Thanks for any help!

You get what you pay for, and the price of the Opteka is probably a real good indicator of where to set your expectations. Some would say "Don't waste your money".

There is a somewhat different perspective to have...A cheap Opteka long lens, for example, is better than no long lens at all, but you may not be very satisfied with the result obtained, unless you think about the incredibly low price!

So it depends upon whether or not you think that a bit of patience, and the time to save up a bit or money to afford something more satisfying, would allow you to make a better purchase, of if the Opteka is the only alternative available to you, given your need. I would suggest a bit of time and patience.

Try looking at lensmate. When I was only using my G5, lensmate was the site of choice for accesory lenses. They handle quality stuff, and have actual viewfinder shots with the various lenses so you can see the overall effect, or it there is any vignetting. Here's a link to their A series page.http://lensmateonline.com/newsite/A620A610.html (external link)
