I really like it. Am going to sell my 300D now.

I love the tougher feel of the XT, as well as it's speed and added controls. I wondered if I'd like the smaller size, and I do. I like the way it fits into my case easier now.

This is the first photo I took with it. I have to say that the Canon 18-55 kit lens is sharper than the Sigma 18-50 3.5 I had been using on the D-Reb. :)
Was thinking of moving to a Nikon D50 but I dunno, I'm quite satisfied with Canon stuff.

Thank you for the replies. There seems to be some washed out highlights in his face. My cats are kind of a challenge to photograph in this respect as they all have white on them. Flash helps. Maybe spot metering would too, which the XT doesn't have.

I think the 18-55 kit lens is under rated. :)

You'll hear a lot of people put this lens down, have a look at what this guy does with it, you may be surprised, I know I was, but he proved to me what I already knew, this is a good all round lens that, in the hands of an expert will produce stunning results'
I can't make the link work, so do a google to 'robermekis.com' and look at his landscapes.
Outstanding!

I went to the site. He sure has some excellent photos there. I've been there before, I think, but thank you for mentioning it. I was glad to go there again. :)

He uses a lot of filters and a tripod. Makes me feel like getting some filters and finding out what they do. And, all that with a 300D and a kit lens. I'm keeping my kit lens. :)

You have an awesome piece of machinery there, and you've already produced a quality image with the kit lens... that's more than what a lot of us on here can (or admit we can) do.

Enjoy your upgrade!

My first shot was of one of our cats too :)

The smaller size and lighter weight of the XT was a major plus for me (bad shoulder). You are going to love this camera. :)
